The city of Rockford is planning a big celebration for hometown band Cheap Trick's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tonight. The band will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this evening.
This afternoon, the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and Mayor Larry Morrissey will announce a series of "fun surprises" to honor the band members. The band formed in Rockford in 1973.
The Area Convention and Visitors Bureau President John Groh says "Cheap Trick undeniably defines the 'Rock' in Rockford." He says the city wants to celebrate the band's accomplishments and "share their hometown with fans from across town and around the world." A big congrats to Cheap Trick from 102.3 The Coyote.
