The "Hub Strong" Tornado Anniversary event will take place today from noon until 3 at Rochelle Township High School for area residents.
The activities include live entertainment, food, and an area for kids to play in the main gym.
The Ogle County Long Term Recovery Committee wanted to have families the option to come together in a casual setting to celebrate the success over the past year and to comfort those who are still working on their recovery process from the tornado.
During this week's program "Let The People Know", Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle said that the tornado, which had winds up to 200 miles per hour, is being talked about around the country. He said that the video recording of the storm enables the National Weather Service to gathering information about future bad weather.
A short program with a few local officials will be held today at 1.
