Stillman Valley teen pleads guilty to charges in fatal crash last fall in Ogle County

A Stillman Valley teen pled guilty today in Ogle County juvenile court on 2 counts of reckless homicide following an accident last fall in which 2 people were killed.

17-year old Emily Flemming, a student at Stillman Valley High School, along with 64-year old Andy Conderman of Amboy suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

18-year old Alison Seiler, who was 17 at the time of the incident. was charged with the Class 4 felony. The state dismissed the 2 counts of aggravated reckless driving in the case.

The accident took place on September 4th of last year at the intersection of Illinois 251 and Big Mound Road near Davis Junction.

1 other student from Stillman Valley High School was injured in the crash.

Seiler was sentenced to probation until October 5th, 2018 in which she turns 21 years old on the date. Ogle County State's Attorney Eric Morrow said that they talked with both the Flemming and Conderman families about the sentence before today's guilty plea.

Seiler was also sentenced to 200 hours of public service work in which 40 hours will be related to education against reckless and impaired driving. She also apologized to both families and will not be able to drive a car until she is 21 years old unless a judge changes the sentence in the future. She must also attend college or get a job since she just graduated from Stillman Valley High School.

Morrow said that they knew there would be no jail time in the sentence.

He also hopes that other area teens learned from this incident dealing with reckless driving.

Local officials had released the teen's name following the accident and prior to chargesa filed against her in juvenile court.
