Several area communities will have fire this weekend to celebrate the 4th of July. Activities in Rochelle begin Monday morning with the VFW Post 3878 parade. It starts at 10 in the morning at 6th Street and 6th Avenue. It will travel on 6th Avenue to Lincoln Highway and then Lincoln Avenue. The route then goes to 9th street and then 10th Avenue as the parade ends at Cooper Park.
The Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District will be celbrating their 50th Anniversary on Monday at Cooper and Atwood Parks. The Municipal Band is scheduled to play at around 8 with the fireworks show at dusk. Christensen said that this is a special year for the park district.

Rochelle: 10th Avenue will be closed to traffic between 20th Street and the parking lot entrances to Cooper and Atwood Parks for the 4th of July Activities beginning at 2pm until after the fireworks.

The Coyote will also be broadcasting live in Kirkland Saturday from 2-4pm with Shawn Lowe. Kickland fireworks are Monday night.
Celebrate 4th of July weekend with the Flight Deck Bar & Grill. Skydivers will be in the air all afternoon, and food and drinks will be available from our great menu! We'll have live music in the courtyard by Burn n' Bush and the boys from 102.3 The Coyote will be broadcasting live from our facility from 4pm-6pm with Gary Petersen. Shortly after sunset, there will be a fireworks display on the airport.
